About Us

Dan and Tony Harris created Forest City Mechanical in 2003 , it was the Monday after the long weekend in April.  This is how we started as a company. We had gone to our place of work and there was a posting that the company had gone into receivership.  Tony worked in the office and did all the heat loss and duct designs, and I was a foreman for the company and looked after the Kitchener Region.  When we met with the owners, they said to us "you always wanted to own your own company and this would be the perfect time to do it!"

Tony and I went outside and there were about six employees standing out front with no job asking us what we were planning on doing.  We told them that we were opening up our own heating company and they asked if they could join us.  We told them sure but here is the deal, we have no work, we have no shop, we have no trucks, and we have no money but if you give us a week we promise you we will have a pay cheque in your pocket within a week.  We followed through with that promise and we have never looked back.

Tony and I owe a big thanks to the employees that were standing out front and took a chance on us.  Also to the three big builders that believed in us,   Monarch Construction out of Kitchener, Rockmount Homes and Rembrandt Homes from London.  When we first started we were in the new housing market but over the years we have diversified our company by getting into the retro market, replacing old furnaces and air conditioners.  Then we started working for Direct Energy and over the next three years became the largest installer in our area.  We also began doing service work for large property management groups one of which was the University of Western Ontario.

Now we are working with a large restoration company and doing installs for Rona through the Gree program. Now Forest City Mechanical is giving back to our community as we are working hand in hand with Habitat for Humanity, what a great cause! Forest City Mechanical is a member of the London Home Builders Association as well as the Better Business Bureau.

Tony and I would like to thank the employees of Forest City Mechanical for their hard work and dedication to excellence, with their hard work they have given our company a great name in our industry and continue to do so.  We only see great things in the future for Forest City Mechanical as we continue to diversify and grow for the future.
